2025 has been brutal when it comes to our favorite TV shows getting canceled.
Netflix cut ties with Girls5eva after saving it from cancellation from Peacock. The musical comedy moved to Netflix for season 3, which eventually became its final season. Netflix also announced in November 2024 that Outer Banks would be returning for a fifth and final season in 2025, breaking the hearts of many Pogues.
Apple TV+’s Sunny was another major TV loss in 2025. Based on the 2018 novel The Dark Manual, Sunny starred Rashida Jones as an American woman living in Japan who gets gifted a domestic robot after her husband and son vanished in a plane crash.
In December, Paramount+ surprised fans by revealing that NCIS spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva would not be returning for a second season.
