Sister wives’ janelle brown reacts to ‘secret lives of mormon wives’ cast

It’s safe to say Sister Wives star Janelle Brown is more than intrigued by The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast.

“I didn’t know about them until this trip and I had to do the deep dive,” Brown, 55, exclusively shared in the newest issue of Us Weekly. “I’m like, ‘Wow. It’s not the Mormons that I know.’”

For Brown, who was born into a long line of Mormons, she had a perception of how individuals who practiced the faith behaved.

“The Mormons I know, they’re so conservative,” she explained to Us. “They’re very salt of the earth, very traditional. These ladies are not traditional.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows the scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers who get caught up in the midst of a swinging sex scandal.

Cast members including Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Jennifer Affleck and more MomTokers try their best to navigate changing friendships and reputations while Hulu cameras roll.

Both Brown and Christine Woolley aren’t passing any judgment on the cast. Instead, they’re just like Us and looking forward to learning more about the cast after Hulu officially confirmed a season 2.

“It’s exciting,” Woolley, 52, said about the show. “[I’m] hoping to meet them. I’m just saying.”

Janelle Brown

Until then, both Brown and Woolley are busy filming her own reality for TLC’s long-running series, Sister Wives. In September, season 19 of the popular series premiered with a special tribute to Janelle and ex-husband Kody Brown’s son Garrison Brown.

In March, Garrison’s parents confirmed their son’s death at age 25. Us reported at the time that Garrison died by suicide while living in Flagstaff, Arizona. A private funeral was held that same month.

In addition to Garrison, Janelle and Kody are the parents of daughters Maddie, 28, and Savanah, 19, and sons Logan, 30, Hunter, 27, and Gabriel, 22.

Janelle and her family plan to continue honoring Garrison’s memory by focusing on everyone’s emotional well-being.

“I just think you do what you can to support mental health, especially men’s mental health,” she told Us. “And we just continued to try to honor him and remember him. Every day is a day. You just take it one day at a time, one moment at a time.”
