Selena Gomez shared her hopes of one day becoming a mom after a heartwarming moment on the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series.

Fans got the ultimate surprise after the sequel series released its second season via Disney+ on Wednesday, October 8, and it’s uncovered that her character, Alex Russo, is the mother of Billie Russo (Janice LeAnn Brown) during the two-part finale.
Gomez, 33, hinted the story line struck an even deeper chord after she reprised her role.
“Alex Russo is a mommy,” she wrote with watery eyed emoji via Instagram Stories on Thursday, October 9, alongside a clip from an emotional scene. “Hopefully one day that’ll be me.”

Gomez also included a clip in which she chatted with her costar about the show.
“We are mother and daughter,” Gomez said in an accompanying interview on Disney Channel’s YouTube. “I really am grateful for this lovely Janice child,” she continued with a laugh.
“It was very emotional, especially for me and her after the table read,” Brown, 15, said. “We were just puddles,” Gomez chimed in, motioning tears streaming down their cheeks, adding, “It’s honestly been a wonderful experience. It’s so fun to see us pass the baton to a new generation.”
Filming the sequel series of the hit show, which aired from 2007 to 2012, was not only nostalgic, but likely a full-circle moment for the star — who recently celebrated a big milestone in her personal life with her wedding to now-husband, Benny Blanco, on September 27.
Gomez and Blanco, 37, exchanged their vows during a romantic ceremony in Santa Barbara.
Among the celebrity guests at the couple’s nuptials were Gomez’s former Wizards of Waverly Place costars, including Jennifer Stone, David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrera.
An insider told NewsPlop exclusively that her BFF Taylor Swift also attended, and even gave a sentimental speech. “She went into depth and talked about how over the years she saw Selena on the floor crying, mentioning exes, Selena having a broken heart and saying how happy she is that Selena has Benny now,” the source shared, noting that Swift, 35, “said it is a best friend’s dream for her best friend to find someone like Benny and is so happy for her.”

For her big day, Gomez wore three custom Ralph Lauren gowns and a pair of Tiffany & Co. drop earrings with 12 carats of diamonds to enhance her look for the momentous occasion.
The first gown, which she was seen wearing in her original wedding post, was a “double-faced” silk satin dress, featuring “a delicate macrame collar,” per the designer. She later changed into a classic halterneck with a draped bodice and “300 hand-shaped and applied lace flowers” for the ceremony.
Her third and final look was a shorter design — perfect for the dance floor — with “stitched panels of cotton, silk, and linen voiles to create an airy, elegant silhouette, while a tulle underskirt adds volume and movement.”
Blanco also looked suave in a tailored piece from the Ralph Lauren Purple Label that came equipped with a silk satin bow tie and velvet slippers.
