Oliver Hudson is his sister Kate Hudson’s No. 1 cheerleader — unless she wears a revealing outfit.
“I’ll start by saying that I cry everyday with pride for my sis after seeing her performance in Song Sung Blue. It moved me beyond expectation,” Oliver, 49, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 13, sharing a photo of Kate, 46, at the film’s premiere held earlier this week. “[I am] tearing up as I write this.”
Despite expressing his pride in watching Kate play Claire Sardina in the autobiographical drama about a Neil Diamond cover band, Oliver was less excited about her premiere look’s low-cut neckline.
“It’s not fair to me as her older brother to have to see this kind of inappropriate nipple exposer of a dress,” Oliver jokingly lamented. “I would never show my body in a post out of respect for America and parts of Iceland. #ShackleTheNipple.”

Kate wowed in a green Valentino deep V-neck gown cinched with a silk ribbon to the Thursday, December 10, Song Sung Blue premiere in New York City. She completed her ensemble with a sheer, blush cape that was fastened with a black choker. For glam, Kate tied her tresses in a sleek bun.
Oliver posted a behind-the-scenes pic of Kate getting ready to his Instagram on Saturday, drawing a red circle around the plunging bodice that narrowly covered the actress’ breast.
Oliver’s Instagram editing job led several of the siblings’ famous friends and followers, like Candace Cameron Bure and Octavia Spencer, to drop laughing emojis in the comment section.
“You’re just jealous she has nipples, Ollie,” Chelsea Handler replied, while Kate’s Raising Helen costar Abigail Breslin added, “I’m screaming.”
Oliver’s A Merry Little Ex-Mas love interest, Jameela Jamil, also thought his upload was hilarious.
“LOLiver,” Jamil, 39, commented.
Oliver and Kate are the two children of exes Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, who each have younger kids from other relationships. As for Oliver and Kate, they have been particularly close through the years and even cohost the “Sibling Revelry” podcast together. They do, however, have a few core differences.
“We have different ideas [about parenting],” Oliver exclusively told NewsPlop in March 2021. “There’s a core for sure of just wanting our kids to be good human beings, be polite and understand that they’re very lucky people to be born into the sort of family we’re born into … but it’s sort of the way that we go about doing things. What we let our kids watch, the freedoms we allow them. We’re different in that way.”

Oliver shares three children with wife Erinn Bartlett, while Kate is the mother of sons Ryder, 21, and Bingham, 13, and daughter Rani Rose, 6. (Kate shares Ryder with Chris Robinson, Bingham with Matt Bellamy and Rani with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.)
Oliver, Kate and their siblings — Hawn shares son Wyatt Russell with longtime love Kurt Russell, who is the father of son Boston Russell from a previous relationship — recently came together to toast Hawn’s milestone 80th birthday.
“We would have done anything for her. Totally up to her,” Oliver told Us last month ahead of his mom’s celebration. “[If] she wanted to go to the moon, we’d figure it out, but she’s a simple gal. She wants her family, and that’s it, and that’s what we’re doing. We have a lot of fun things planned within that she doesn’t know about, but we are just going to keep it … to family.”
