

HGTV fans have had to mourn the deaths of several talented stars.
In recent years, House Hunters viewers grieved the passing of Suzanne Whang after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Other fans of the network may remember Carol Duvall, who hosted The Carol Duvall Show for nearly 10 years. Her family confirmed her passing in July 2023 at the age of 97.
In December 2025, news broke that Holmes on Homes star Frank Cozzolino had died after being diagnosed with lymphoma.

“My dad is loved by many,” Frank’s daughter Filomena Cozzolino wrote via Instagram after his passing. “A man full of passion, empathy, brutal honesty and integrity.”

Frank Cozzolino
Holmes on Homes star Frank Cozzolino died in December 2025 after battling lymphoma, a type of blood cancer in the lymphatic system, according to his daughter. He was 56.
Cozzolino appeared alongside Mike Holmes on HGTV’s Holmes on Homes, where they helped renovate poorly constructed properties.
“Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped,” Holmes shared via Instagram at the time of his friend’s death. “Frank could walk into the toughest electrical disaster, crack a joke in his style, and suddenly, the whole room felt lighter. That’s just who he was. Frank wasn’t just good at what he did — he really cared.”
Loren Ruch
HGTV House Party cohost Loren Ruch died in June 2025 of acute myeloid leukemia. He was 55.
Ruch had been with HGTV as a top programming executive since 2008 and oversaw the production of shows like HGTV Dream Home, White House Christmas and A Very Brady Renovation.
“RIP my friend,” Bobby Berk wrote via Instagram as a tribute. “You were always such a warm light in a dark world and will be missed by so many 💔.”
Carol Duvall
The Carol Duvall Show host Carol Duvall died in July 2023 at the age of 97, her family confirmed to The New York Times.
Duvall encouraged viewers to make their own picture frames, greeting cards, place mats, jewelry, Christmas decorations and more in her national programs that aired on ABC and HGTV.
Suzanne Whang
House Hunters host Suzanne Whang died in September 2019 following a battle with breast cancer. She was 56.
“Suzanne breathed her last breath here at home, as I knelt beside her and caressed her,” her partner, Jeff Vezain, wrote in a message via People. “A lifetime of love, adventure, humor and bliss now lives in our memories. … She was immensely encouraged by the love of her family, friends and those she had yet to meet.”
Frank Miller
In November 2017, Flip or Flop stars Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack mourned the death of their friend and contractor Frank Miller after a diagnosis of Laryngeal cancer.
“You have touched not only myself and my family but thousands and thousands around the world,” El Moussa wrote via Instagram at the time of Miller’s passing. “You have impacted so many lives with the fight inside your heart and soul. I’ve never met anyone like you nor will I ever.”
Haack added, “Frank, since the day I met you I had the utmost respect for you. Hardworking and REAL. Always a pleasure to be around and always made me laugh. You fought your hardest!! You are so admired and respected by all who know you. God has a special place for you in Heaven. Love you and miss you❤️ #RIP.”
