Holmes on Homes star Frank Cozzolino’s cause of death has been revealed.

Cozzolino died on December 4 at age 56 after battling lymphoma, a type of blood cancer in the lymphatic system, according to his daughter.

“My dad is loved by many. A man full of passion, empathy, brutal honesty and integrity,” Cozzolino’s daughter, Filomena, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 6. “He fought through the struggles of organ disease and was granted a second chance at life in 2017 through the gift of organ donation.”

According to Filomena, her father’s liver disease returned earlier this year and he underwent a second transplant in July.

“[It was] a third chance at life, if you will,” Filomena recalled. “There were many post-operation complications, and he conquered each new battle until he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Ever the fighter, he never gave up.”

She continued, “He deliberated and decided that he would push through. He’d beaten the odds up to this point, he thought, ‘The world isn’t getting rid of me this easily.’ Although he lost his battle in the late evening of December 4, 2025, my dad pushed the boundaries of what many of his medical team, friends and family thought possible.”

Filomena further revealed that Cozzolino “put up one hell of a fight” against his cancer diagnosis.

“You are the strongest person I know, and I am grateful for the years we got to spend together on Earth,” she wrote, directly addressing her dad. “Now your battle is over and you can rest. We’ll all see you again.”

Filomena also hoped loved ones and HGTV fans alike will continue to honor Cozzolino’s memory in the wake of his death.

“Loved ones will remember their fondest memories with him, whether those memories be of a shared meal, rocking out at a concert, their best laugh, the darkest moments they pulled one another out of picking his brain about electrical or music or travel,” she wrote. “Each memory is what he’d want us to tightly hold onto as we battle our grief. He was a man of many words (oh, what a gift of the gab) and believed in the power of positivity. His passing, as heartbreaking as it is, is a reason for us to keep pushing forward, and spread kindness and generosity.”

Cozzolino also didn’t want his loved ones to gather at a funeral service.

“For all of those who’d like to pay their respects, he did not wish to have a funeral. Rather, he wanted people to focus on the great times they shared with him,” Filomena added. “His life, and the lives of his loved ones, was enhanced by organ donation. We can take a moment to honor him by donating to organ transplant research, cancer research or signing up for organ donation. This way, we may continue to bring others a second, or third, chance at life.”

Cozzolino appeared alongside Mike Holmes on HGTV’s Holmes on Homes, where they helped renovate poorly constructed properties.

“I am devastated by the passing of my good friend Frank Cozzolino. Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped,” Holmes, 62, wrote via Instagram earlier this week. “Frank could walk into the toughest electrical disaster, crack a joke in his style, and suddenly, the whole room felt lighter. That’s just who he was. Frank wasn’t just good at what he did — he really cared.”
