Comedian Robby Hoffman isn’t shy about being wife Gabby Windey‘s biggest fan.
“I happen to be living one of the greatest lives I’ve heard about in recent history. And it happens to be mine,” Hoffman, 36, said on the Monday, December 8, episode of Josh Peck and Ben Soffer‘s “Good Guys” podcast. “I never would have guessed that I would say such a thing, but I’m like, ‘I can’t believe it, Rob.’ I look at little me and I’m like, ‘Look what we did.’”
Along with nabbing a recurring role on Hacks this year, Hoffman is gearing up for the release of her latest stand-up special, Wake Up, which hits Netflix Sunday, December 14. (The special was directed by fellow stand-up John Mulaney, who recently featured Hoffman on his Netflix show Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney.)
Hoffman is also thriving in her personal life after marrying Windey, 34, in January.
How Much Did Gabby Windey and Robby Hoffman Spend on Their Vegas Wedding?
“We got married in Vegas, then we did it legally,” Hoffman said on Monday. “Now, Gabby wants to get married every year, she loves to get married.”
Scroll down for Hoffman’s biggest revelations about her marriage to Windey from the “Good Guys” podcast:
1st Year of Marriage
Hoffman gushed over her “unbelievable” wife as the couple near their first anniversary. “People say the first year is the hardest. We can’t believe it every day,” Hoffman said. “I’m so thrilled.”
According to Hoffman, the pair’s first year of dating was more challenging. “Maybe straight people, they move in later. You know what I mean?” she explained. “Maybe the first year of marriage is the real dating. We were doing all that, but we got it out in the dating. So we’re just now like, ‘Let’s go. We are home.’”
Whether They Want Kids
On the topic of expanding their family, Hoffman gave a clear answer: “No, no, no, no, no, no kids.”
She continued, “First of all, you know, physically speaking, the science — it’s different for straight people because it can happen naturally. Sometimes it doesn’t happen naturally. But for us, it’s kind of like because we’d have to go very out of our way … it’s not something we want to go out of our way for.”
Careers Taking Off
Hoffman pointed out that her success didn’t happen overnight. “I’ve been very slow and steady, wins the race. I’ve been working a long time, but steadily chipping and enjoying,” she said. “I really enjoy my lifestyle and what I do. I like sleeping in and not waking up for an alarm. I like writing and I like doing stand-up and just slowly keeping at it.”
Windey appeared to be on board right away. “Meeting Gabby, I think she knew no matter what, whether she’s there or not, this is what I do. For love or money, when I’m poor … there’s nothing else you’re gonna do,” Hoffman said.

The Kim Kardashian Factor
Peck pointed out that both Hoffman and Windey were achieving their dreams at the same time, and Hoffman went on to sing her wife’s praises.
“Even with Traitors coming out … I mean, I see already before the world sees. We’ve never seen anybody like her before,” Hoffman said. (Windey was one of four winners on season 3 of Peacock’s The Traitors.)
Hoffman compared Windey to Kim Kardashian. “They thought [she was] famous for being famous. … She’s reality, she’s sex tapes, she’s this,” she explained. “Gabby went from nurse, reality, Bachelor, podcast, acting. I just look at her and I’m like, ‘It’s crystal clear to me.’”
Lessons From Marriage
Hoffman noted that she’s “learned so much” from Windey since they’ve been together, including that she doesn’t always have to say what’s on her mind or try to make everyone laugh.
“We’re in a refinement stage,” Hoffman teased. “And meeting your other half helps the refinement because they love you for you. And they also want to take some of the load off.”
