Kate Hudson’s 7-year-old daughter, Rani Rose, knows exactly what she wants for Christmas.
“She is a big personality. She is incredibly emotional and sensitive, but like, tough,” Hudson, 46, gushed about Rani during her Wednesday, December 17, appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark. “It’s all beauty. She loves beautiful things. Fashion, like, crazy fashion, loves skincare.”
Hudson revealed that Rani’s Christmas list for Santa even included “some skincare with, like, Niacin in it, and I’m like, ‘What? No!’ I don’t even know what this ingredient is.”
“[She’s like,] ‘It tightens, Mom,’ and I’m like, ‘Get outta here,’” Hudson continued.

Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is a popular ingredient in skincare products for reducing redness, brightening and strengthening skin, controlling oil and anti-aging.
Hudson also said that Rani, whom she shares with fiancé Danny Fujikawa, has a “very specific” and “very different” fashion sense than she does.
“She sees fringe and she’s like, [shakes head] ‘No.’ And I’m like, everything I wear has fringe on it. … No puffy sleeves,” the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star added.
Hudson showed how fast Rani was growing up earlier this year when she shared a video of her daughter getting her ears pierced. The October TikTok video featured Rani sitting on Hudson’s lap as the Song Sung Blue actress calmed her little girl’s nerves.
“Like you’re meditating,” Hudson told Rani as she encouraged her to take deep breaths. “Just keep doing it.”
Though Rani appeared to be on the verge of tears during the piercing, she was thrilled to have the accessories in her ears when the process was finished.
“I have my ears pierced,” she said as she proudly looked in the mirror.
Hudson and Fujikawa, 49, welcomed Rani in October 2018 after two years of dating. The couple later announced their engagement in 2021.
“Let’s go!” Hudson captioned a beach selfie with her fiancé at the time, adding bride, groom and wedding chapel emojis.
Hudson also shares son Ryder, 21, with ex-husband Chris Robinson and son Bingham, 14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.
Hudson revealed what her kids were up to during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers back in March.

“Ryder is now 21, and he is in performing arts school. Imagine that,” she told Meyers, 51. “Bing is 13 now, and quite actually loves money. We were unfortunately in the Palisades Fire — our house was OK, but you learn a lot about what you take. And the only thing Bing took was his cash box. That’s all he needed, and he then couldn’t figure out how to open it.”
Hudson shared an update on Ryder during her Live With Kelly and Mark appearance, revealing that he’s now getting ready to graduate from college. When asked what he plans to do with his career, Hudson replied hesitantly, “He’s gonna act.”
“He is an actor. He’s a great actor, actually. I’m excited for him. But he also loves to make furniture. So, he got really into woodworking,” she continued. “The great thing about NYU is he was in collaborative arts and it opened up all these different aspects of art to him and woodworking was the one.”
Kelly, 55, pointed out, “When he has downtime in his career, he can sell furniture.”
Hudson responded with excitement, “He can make me bookshelves. … ‘I would like you to make my dining room tables.’ But yeah, he loves it. So, he wants to design furniture and then act.”
