Jennifer Lawrence isn’t into every trend.

Lawrence, 35, opened up about her fashion opinions — and what Y2K fads she’s into — while chatting with Harper’s Bazaar in a new interview published Monday, November 3.

“Skinny jeans are dead, which I’m happy about,” she said, also telling the publication she’s here for wearing dresses over pants. “I don’t want somebody to be able to tell with absolute clarity the difference of size between my thigh and my ankle.”

The actress also shared that she’s into layering some pieces — and was even seen rocking a brown cardigan over her matching sweater on October 29.

“It’s a sweater over a sweater,” she explained of her look. While she’s fine with seeing a dress over jeans or layered tops, Lawrence noted that she “didn’t put a skirt over a skirt.”

One trend that’s made her life easier, especially as a mom of two, is permanent jewelry. (Lawrence shares sons Cy, 3, and another son who was born in April with husband Cooke Maroney.)

“I’m in a phase where I’m wearing more permanent jewelry, as opposed to changing it,” she said, gushing about her “ear cuff” and “anklets” that she wears “every day.”

Lawrence shared that she gets fashion inspiration from seeing people’s outfits in New York City and from the characters she plays.

“It happens every time. It’s something that I seriously have to keep in control. I see it happening while I’m shooting, and then I look back at pictures and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” she shared.

“Grace was very influential,” she said, referencing her Die My Love character, who wears bright colors, strapless dresses, overalls, oversized graphic T-shirts and more. “I noticed when I started to dress like her.”

One character that didn’t change her sense of style was Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games series. From athletic uniforms in the games to leather jackets while hunting and over-the-top styles in the Capitol, Katniss’ wardrobe never made an impact on Lawrence’s personal closet.

“Although I can’t put my hair in a braid without being like, ‘Oh, you want somebody to bring up the movie?’” she quipped about Katniss’ iconic side braid.

Another trend that the No Hard Feelings actress hopped on recently was the bangs bandwagon. In between appearances during the San Sebastian International Film Festival in September, Lawrence debuted a wispy fringe at the Die My Love screening. Her blonde hair was cut slightly above her eyebrows and blown out over her forehead. The rest of her highlighted mane was worn down and straightened.

Lawrence styled her new look with a full beat courtesy of Georgie Eisdell, including long lashes, winged eyeliner, blushed cheeks and pink, lined lips. She tied her look together with an olive asymmetrical dress featuring one short sleeve and one long, a cutout over her torso and a floor-length pleated skirt.

She added a touch of sparkle to her ensemble with silver statement earrings and a delicate ring.

More stars this year who have debuted bangs include Zoë Kravitz, Kourtney Kardashian, Katie Thurston, Leighton Meester and Kristen Stewart.
