<p>The <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ew.com/third-disney-world-death-bay-lake-contemporary-resort-11836713" target="_blank">third person to die at a Disney property</a> in 10 days <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/10/27/disney-world-death-suicide/" target="_blank">committed suicide</a>, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office in Florida.</p>
<p>Matthew Cohn, 28, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/10/24/disney-world-death-contemporary-resport/" target="_blank">died last Thursday</a> from “<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ew.com/disney-world-guest-death-cause-announced-11837817" target="_blank">multiple traumatic injuries</a>” after jumping from a building at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Florida, the coroner’s office told EW and TMZ.</p>
<p>His was the second suicide this month at the resort, authorities said, coming exactly 10 days after the Oct. 14 <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://people.com/disney-world-guest-dies-of-apparent-suicide-at-park-hotel-not-monorail-11830175" target="_blank">death of 31-year-old Summer Equitz, who jumped from the main building</a>. Cohn reportedly leaped from an upper balcony in the resort’s Bay Tower, which connects to the rest of the complex via a sky bridge. Both are a short walk to the Magic Kingdom.</p>
<p>Witnesses and other guests posted videos and photos of the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@aiotfamily/video/7564426389001080078" target="_blank">enormous police presence</a> they awoke to on Thursday morning, and their shock when speculation about a death was borne out. They said Disney staff knocked on their doors and told them not to look out their windows, while other personnel <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://reddit.com/r/WaltDisneyWorld/comments/1oe5qaa/whats_going_on_in_the_back_of_bay_lake_tower/?rdt=55487" target="_blank">shielded hallway windows from prying eyes</a>.</p>
<p>Disney has seen a spate of deaths at its properties this month. Cohn’s death occurred just two days after a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/10/22/man-dies-disney-world-resort-week-fort-wilderness/" target="_blank">man in his 60s suffered a fatal medical episode</a> at Walt Disney World’s <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/campsites-at-fort-wilderness-resort/" target="_blank">Fort Wilderness Resort &#038; Campground</a>. About 2,500 miles away on Oct. 8, a woman also in her 60s <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/10/08/disneyland-death-haunted-mansion-ride/" target="_blank">died after becoming unresponsive</a> on Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion ride in Anaheim, California.</p>
